You and I and You (2011-2012)
The ‘You&I&You’ project examines the human reaction in the process of communication. Through this project, I examined the interaction between individuals in both real and cyber spaces. There were two systems in this project; a physical system and a digital system.
In the physical system, the audiences heard some messages which were triggered by their body movements. Any type of physical movement activated messages to pop up from a social network service, Twitter, through my algorithm. While the physical system resonates with Twitter messages, the digital system broadcasted the audience's real-world participants in real-time video to people who access the web. By having either a visual or aural experience, the participants have to make bodily gestures or literal notes as a response from one to another.
I enjoyed observing how the audiences throw themselves into the process of perceiving and sending ideas as a group or an individual. It extends my research interests into communicative interactions.
